Van Gogh Museum
Several merchandise developed
In 2017, the Van Gogh Museum approached us with a request: to design a children’s collection for their museum shops, capturing Vincent van Gogh in a playful, yet meaningful way.
Our journey began with a single design—the first knitted Van Gogh doll. Drawing inspiration from Van Gogh’s iconic self-portraits, we worked closely with the museum to develop a knitted doll that young visitors could cherish.
The development process was collaborative at every stage. After finalizing the design concept, we partnered with our crochet supplier to produce the first samples. These samples were reviewed and refined through iterations, incorporating feedback from the museum to ensure the doll perfectly embodied Van Gogh in the final production sample.
Following the success of the doll, our collaboration with the Van Gogh Museum blossomed over the years into a diverse collection of products for both children and adults. Over the years, we expanded the line to include keychains, pencils, brooches, and other merchandise inspired by Van Gogh’s self-portraits. Additionally, we developed designs based on two famous paintings: the Sunflowers and the Almond Blossom, creating embroidered bags, accessories, and keepsakes based on his works.
Our bestselling products—the Van Gogh doll and keyring—have become a classic symbol of this successful collaboration. What began as a small children’s collection has evolved into a complete product line. Today, after seven years of collaboration, our partnership with the Van Gogh Museum remains as exciting and innovative as ever, with new designs and products being created to honour Van Gogh’s legacy and bring his art into the hands of admirers worldwide.
